Annual Nowruz Gathering Held in Dushanbe with Poets from Afghanistan, Iran, and Tajikistan

The annual Nowruz gathering took place on Thursday, March 18, in the city of Dushanbe, bringing together poets and cultural figures from Afghanistan, Iran, and Tajikistan. The event emphasized the historical and cultural ties of the region, with participation from literary and cultural personalities of the three countries.
Among the Afghan participants were Latif Nazemi, Tanya Akefi, and Mojgan Saqar. Additionally, Dr. Najibullah Masir, former Deputy Prime Minister of Afghanistan, and Fayyaz-ud-Din Ghiyasi, a former diplomat, also took part in the gathering.
Several Iranian poets and cultural figures also joined the event, speaking on the significance of Nowruz in the region’s culture, though further details of their speeches have not been disclosed.
The gathering opened with a keynote speech by Qabiljan Khoshgoftorzadeh, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan. Furthermore, Professor Masrur Abdullah, senior advisor to the President of Tajikistan, and Ibrahim Abdullazada, Deputy Head of the Friendship and Cultural Relations Society of Tajikistan with Foreign Countries, delivered congratulatory messages.
The annual Nowruz gathering has been held since 2015, established by the order of Emomali Rahmon, President of Tajikistan. It aims to explore Aryan history and civilization and to promote the International Nowruz Center, which was created as part of this initiative and has convened every year since.
