Former Afghan Officials Support Taliban’s Retaliatory Actions Amid Border Clashes with Pakistan

Several former governors and officials from the previous Afghan government have expressed support for the Taliban administration’s retaliatory attacks against what they describe as “military actions by Pakistan.” They emphasized that Afghanistan is the shared home of all Afghans and that any attack on the country will be met with a public response.

These figures accused Pakistan of violating Afghanistan’s territorial integrity amid recent tensions along the border line, noting that these incidents have led to civilian casualties and injuries. They said the recurrence of such events has heightened concerns among residents of the border areas.

They regarded the defense of national sovereignty and territorial integrity as a non-negotiable principle and stressed that reciprocal responses to foreign attacks are the legitimate right of every country.

Meanwhile, political experts warn that continued military tensions between Kabul and Islamabad could further complicate the security and economic situation in border regions and pose new challenges to local residents’ lives. Given the absence of normal diplomatic relations between the Taliban administration and many countries, managing such crises requires transparency, accountability, and efforts to prevent further harm to civilians.
