Pakistan Destroys Taliban Arms Depot in Paktika Amid Ongoing Clashes

Pakistani media have reported that the country’s forces destroyed a Taliban arms depot in Paktika province and simultaneously targeted another military base near South Waziristan. The newspaper Dawn reported on Monday, March 8, that the operation targeted a base known as ‘Shaheen’ in Paktika.
According to the report, the mentioned depot was jointly used by the Afghan Taliban forces and the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The media also claimed that another base near the Shawal area in South Waziristan was attacked.
Dawn’s report stated that as a result of these attacks, Taliban forces from Afghanistan and what the newspaper described as ‘Fitna al-Khawarij’ left the area. So far, the Taliban administration has not officially responded to these claims.
Clashes between Pakistani forces and the Taliban administration have been ongoing for over a week, raising concerns about the expansion of insecurity along the border and once again questioning how relations between the two sides are managed.
