Pakistan Launches Attack on Paktia; Casualty Details Remain Unclear

The National Radio and Television under the Taliban administration reported on Wednesday, March 3rd, that Pakistani forces attacked parts of Samkani district in Paktia province last night. According to the report, civilian homes were targeted in these attacks.
So far, no clear details have been released regarding possible casualties or the extent of financial damage, and independent sources have neither confirmed nor denied the incident. The lack of precise information has once again raised questions about the security situation along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.
The Taliban administration claims that a total of 110 civilians have been killed in Pakistani attacks across various areas of Afghanistan. In contrast, Pakistani officials have stated that they have eliminated more than 430 Taliban fighters.
However, the Taliban administration has only confirmed the deaths of 28 of its fighters. The significant discrepancy in casualty figures reported by the two sides highlights a lack of transparency and restricted access for independent media to the conflict zones—an issue that consistently hinders a clear understanding of the real extent of casualties and losses for local residents.
