Head of Hindu and Sikh Council Meets Taliban Official in Kabul’s Arg Palace

The Office of the Prime Minister of the Taliban administration announced that Abdul Watha, the General Director of the office, met today at the Arg Palace with Manjit Singh Lamba, the head of the Hindu and Sikh Council of Afghanistan, along with several council members.

According to a released statement, during the meeting, representatives of the Hindu and Sikh communities expressed their concerns regarding the seizure of lands belonging to these religious minorities, as well as challenges related to obtaining permits for practicing herbal medicine.

Abdul Watha assured the attendees that these issues would be communicated to the relevant departments within the Taliban administration. However, no details have yet been provided on how these concerns will be practically addressed.

The Hindu and Sikh communities are among Afghanistan’s religious minorities, and in recent years they have faced security challenges, widespread migration, and legal issues concerning property rights. It is expected that the Taliban administration will take transparent and accountable measures in response to the legitimate demands of these citizens.
