Taliban Threatens Pakistani Military After Airstrikes in Paktika and Nangarhar

Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Taliban administration, has announced that following Pakistani airstrikes on parts of Paktika and Nangarhar provinces, the group will target Pakistani military forces. He stated that their response will be directed specifically at Pakistan’s military personnel.
In an interview with Aryana News, Mujahid claimed that Pakistan launched attacks on Afghan territory due to what he called its “inability or failure against its opponents.” According to him, this action aims to divert public attention from Pakistan’s internal problems.
The Taliban spokesperson also emphasized that they do not target civilians, asserting that only “the main criminals, who are the Pakistani military forces,” will be targeted.
These remarks come amid increasing border tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan in recent years, which have repeatedly raised concerns among residents of the border areas. Experts warn that continued confrontational approaches could further complicate the region’s security situation and expose civilians to greater risks.
