Three-Day Domestic Products Exhibition Held in Balkh

A three-day national exhibition of agricultural and livestock products aimed at supporting domestic production has been held in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of Balkh province. The exhibition was launched with the participation of about 100 domestic companies and producers, showcasing dozens of booths featuring a variety of products.
The Taliban’s Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock stated that more than 100 booths at the event were dedicated to introducing local products. These booths displayed dairy products, handicrafts, carpets, dried fruits, and other domestically produced food items for visitors.
Organizers said the purpose of the exhibition was to strengthen the domestic products market and create direct communication channels between producers and consumers. Balkh, being one of the country’s key agricultural provinces, hosts such programs annually to foster local economic growth.
However, some producers have consistently emphasized that sustainable development of domestic products requires clear policies, access to larger markets, and practical support from the Taliban administration—issues that have been significant challenges for the private sector in recent years.
