Nearly 80,000 Work Permits Issued Across Afghanistan Under Taliban Administration

Officials at the Taliban’s Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs say that the distribution of work permits across the country is expanding, with nearly 80,000 permits issued since the beginning of this solar year. According to them, these permits have been granted to Afghan workers as well as a number of foreign laborers.

Samiaullah Ebrahimi, the ministry’s spokesperson, stated that all individuals working in government and non-government institutions are required to obtain a work permit from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. He added that this process is being implemented nationwide.

Ebrahimi noted that a significant portion of foreign workers are active in the private sector, particularly in technical fields. However, he did not provide further details about the types of projects or the countries of origin of these workers.

While the Taliban administration emphasizes the legalization of labor activities, some citizens have previously complained about the complexity of administrative procedures and lack of transparency at certain stages of obtaining documents. This issue has been identified as requiring further attention and clarification from the responsible authorities.
