Floods Destroy 20 Homes in Kohsan District, Herat

The Department for Disaster Management in Herat province has announced that severe floods in Kohsan district have completely destroyed 20 houses, while several others have suffered damage.
Abdul Ghani Kamel, head of the department, stated that the incident caused no casualties but inflicted significant financial losses on local residents.
He added that, besides residential homes, more than 30 water wells were destroyed by the floods, which could lead to difficulties for families in accessing drinking water.
The head of Herat’s Disaster Management Department also mentioned that, in cooperation with several aid organizations, immediate assistance has been distributed to the affected families. Kohsan is a border district of Herat with Iran, and during the rainy seasons, some areas are at risk of flooding.
