Taliban Spokesman Says Ready to Assist Iran If Requested, Praises Tehran’s Strength

Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Taliban administration, stated that Afghan people are ready to assist the Iranian people according to their capacity if a request is made by Tehran. He also described Iran as “powerful” and asserted that Tehran emerged victorious in the recent 12-day conflict with Israel.
In talks with media, Mujahid addressed Washington’s threats against Tehran, saying that if the United States takes military action, he believes Iran will win again. According to him, Iran has the capability to defend itself and this right is reserved for the country.
These remarks come as tensions between Iran and Israel have increased in recent months, and the United States has adopted harsh stances against Tehran on some occasions. The referenced 12-day conflict ended with a ceasefire.
The Taliban spokesman’s latest position on a regional conflict comes while the administration remains unrecognized by many countries and faces significant political, economic, and human rights challenges within Afghanistan. Nevertheless, its officials continue to voice their views on regional developments on various occasions.
