Domestic Medicine Production Rises in Balkh, Boosting Employment and Quality Standards

Officials in Balkh province have announced an increase in the production of domestic medicines, with the expansion of manufacturing plants creating more job opportunities. Currently, two medicine factories are operational in Balkh, and a third one is expected to start production soon.

Factory officials state that domestically produced medicines are reliable in quality and, compared to imported drugs, offer better standards. They emphasize ongoing efforts to maintain production criteria to meet the demands of the domestic market through local products.

Meanwhile, Balkh’s Department of Industry and Trade, under Taliban administration, considers standardizing domestic medicine production as a key factor in reducing imports and increasing employment opportunities in the province. They believe the growth of the medicine industry can play an effective role in strengthening the country’s manufacturing sector.

Balkh is one of the important northern provinces of the country, which in recent years has seen activity in various manufacturing sectors. The rise in domestic medicine production in Balkh comes as access to quality and safe medicines remains a fundamental need for citizens across the country.
