Malik Setiz: Pakistan’s Recent Attacks Unthinkable Without U.S. Coordination

Dr. Malik Setiz, an international relations expert, stated that Pakistan’s recent military operations in Kabul and along Afghanistan’s eastern borders are inconceivable without prior knowledge and coordination with the United States.

According to him, General Asim Munir, commander of the Pakistani army, has modeled these attacks on Israel’s 12-day operation against Iran, which were characterized by meticulously planned and simultaneous military execution.

Dr. Setiz attributes these developments to weak diplomatic relations between Kabul’s Taliban administration and regional countries, especially the complex rivalry between India and Pakistan. He believes that the Taliban’s lack of a balanced foreign policy has disrupted regional stability.

Furthermore, he points to the presence of extremist and terrorist groups within Afghanistan’s territory, as well as increasing mistrust by Pakistani authorities towards the Taliban, as additional reasons behind the recent border attacks and incursions. These events have sparked sharp criticism within international diplomatic circles.

The international community has repeatedly urged the Taliban administration not to allow Afghan soil to become a sanctuary for terrorist groups and to maintain balanced and responsible relations with neighboring countries. However, these demands appear to continue to be ignored.
