Iran Marks 47th Anniversary of Islamic Revolution with Ceremony in Kabul

An official ceremony was held at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul to commemorate the 47th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran. The event was attended by Iranian officials, several Taliban administration representatives, ambassadors, foreign diplomats, religious scholars, and residents of Kabul.

During the program, Alireza Beigdeli, Charge d’Affaires at the Iranian Embassy in Kabul, referenced the security and military events of the past year, stating that Tehran, while emphasizing diplomacy and dialogue, perceives itself as exposed to military actions from the United States and Israel. He noted that, according to Iranian officials, the response of Iran’s armed forces to these developments has led to the cessation of conflict and discussions on a ceasefire.

The embassy head also stressed that Tehran’s official policy is to pursue diplomacy alongside defending national sovereignty and territorial integrity. He added that decades-long pressures and sanctions have not fundamentally affected the political will of the Iranian regime.

This ceremony in Kabul takes place as Iran’s relations with the Taliban administration have entered a new phase following political changes in Afghanistan, with both sides seeking to maintain their diplomatic contacts at a defined level.
