Officials from Kandahar municipality report that the road expansion project from Dand intersection to Bagh-e-Pol has so far progressed by 15 percent. This project is considered one of the major urban development initiatives in the city. According to these officials, the project is being implemented at a total cost of 1.4 billion Afghanis. Its goal is to reduce traffic congestion and improve mobility in one of Kandahar’s busiest areas. The Kandahar municipality under Taliban administration added that the practical work on this project is scheduled to be completed within 18 months, after which it will be put into operation.
