Iranian and Taliban Border Officials Hold Phone Talks on Cooperation and Border Management

In the latest communication between border-related officials, the Deputy for Legal and International Affairs of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a phone conversation with the Taliban’s Minister of Borders, Tribes, and Clans.

During the call, both parties emphasized the continuation of cooperation in border management and highlighted the renovation of border documents and markers as a key topic of discussion. According to both sides, this process is important for reducing ambiguities and better regulating border relations.

It was also agreed that joint technical and legal meetings between the two sides would be held more frequently to address outstanding issues within specialized frameworks.

According to the announced agreement, the next meeting of senior border officials from Iran and Afghanistan will be held in 1405 in the Iranian calendar (2026-2027) and hosted by Iran.
