Taliban’s Labor Ministry and Norwegian Committee Discuss Cooperation on Employment and Workforce Training

Mawlavi Mohammad Zahed Ahmadzai, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Taliban administration, met with Tarya Magnussen Waterdal, Director General of the Norwegian Committee for Afghanistan, to discuss joint cooperation in the fields of employment and workforce training.
According to Mr. Ahmadzai, the ministry aims to address labor market needs and reduce unemployment by providing technical training and literacy programs to youth, migrants, prisoners, and recovering addicts. He emphasized that such programs must be implemented within the framework of the ministry’s policies and structures.
The Deputy Minister also requested the Norwegian Committee for Afghanistan to expand its activities in accordance with the principles and regulations set by the ministry and to maintain closer coordination with relevant organizations.
Meanwhile, Tarya Magnussen Waterdal stated that the Norwegian Committee, considering available resources, strives to accelerate its activities in coordination with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and other related institutions to provide services across various sectors to the people of Afghanistan.
According to information from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, both sides have agreed to establish technical teams from each party to better follow up on joint programs and address implementation challenges.
