34-Megawatt Solar Power Project Launched at Kabul Green Industries Park

The 34-megawatt solar power project at Kabul Green Industries Park, along with a 126 MVA substation and 220 kV transmission line, was inaugurated in a ceremony attended by Taliban officials and representatives of the Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS).

At the event, Dr. Abdul Bari Omar, CEO of DABS, stated that despite the closure of trade routes with Pakistan, the country’s markets have not faced major difficulties. He attributed this to the cooperation of traders and the management under the current regime, emphasizing that the people of Afghanistan are resilient and capable.

He further added that all Afghans are members of one household and, given the available resources, share a collective responsibility for the country’s reconstruction. According to him, coordination between institutions and the private sector can play a fundamental role in alleviating economic and infrastructural challenges.

During the same ceremony, Noorul Haq Anwar, Director General of the Administrative Affairs Department, addressed the issue of returning refugees. He said that the Taliban administration has strived to organize and manage these returnees systematically using the resources at its disposal. These remarks come amid ongoing concerns, as sustainable management and provision of essential services for returnees remain major social and economic challenges for the country.
