Taliban Spokesperson Vows No One Will Be Allowed to Seize Bagram Airbase

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban administration, stated in an interview with Sky News that the Taliban will not allow anyone to take control of Bagram Airbase. He claimed that Afghans will never cede their land to foreigners under any circumstances.
Bagram Airbase, which was once the largest U.S. military center in Afghanistan, has now become a symbol of the withdrawal of foreign forces and the changes that have occurred in the country over the past two decades. Public concerns about the future of the base remain, especially amid rising regional threats.
Zabihullah Mujahid also revealed that the Taliban administration has held talks with the United States regarding the reopening of embassies in Kabul and Washington. Although he did not provide further details, these statements suggest a possible Taliban effort to gain international legitimacy.
While the Taliban speak of not ceding Afghan land to foreigners, they themselves face a lack of both domestic and international legitimacy, and the country’s security and political situation remains worrisome.
