Pakistani Cement Traders Suffer Losses Due to Trade Route Restrictions to Afghanistan

Cement producers and traders in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province have reported significant financial losses caused by delays and restrictions on trucks carrying cement to Afghanistan. According to these traders, the prolonged waiting of trade convoys has escalated costs and economic damages, disrupting the regular export flow of cement to the Afghan market. Meanwhile, Taliban officials have stated that they will not allow the resumption of trade convoys until clear and reliable guarantees are provided by Pakistan’s military regime. This ongoing situation not only affects Pakistani traders but also hampers Afghanistan’s access to construction materials, underscoring the urgent need for transparent and accountable management of trade and border relations by the Taliban administration.
