Pakistan Condemns Attack on Putin’s Residence as Dangerous Threat to Peace and Stability

Pakistan’s Prime Minister has condemned the attack on the residence of Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, describing it as a dangerous act against regional and global peace, security, and stability. In official remarks, Shahbaz Sharif stated that the incident occurred at a time when efforts for a political solution and peace are underway, warning that such attacks could seriously threaten diplomatic processes. Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters that Ukraine launched an attack on the Russian president’s residence in the Novgorod region using 91 drones. Russian officials have described this act as a terrorist attack. Meanwhile, Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, warned that targeting Putin’s residence will not go unanswered and will be met with retaliation. This event has been reported amid rising hopes for progress in the Ukraine war peace process, following a meeting between Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky and current U.S. President Donald Trump. Some Russian officials have also pointed to European countries, particularly the United Kingdom, as major opponents of peace in Ukraine, indirectly accusing London of involvement in the attack; however, this claim has not been independently verified to date.
