WFP Warns of Ongoing Aid Challenges in Afghanistan Amid Limited Resources
The World Food Programme (WFP) announced that by the end of 2025, Afghanistan has endured one of its most challenging periods, marked by consecutive droughts, earthquakes, and a significant reduction in humanitarian aid.
According to the statement, despite limited financial and logistical resources, the agency has strived to maintain food assistance, nutrition programs, and resilience-building projects across various regions of the country. WFP officials emphasized that under these circumstances, every hour of work and every dollar of aid is crucial for continuing their operations.
The message highlights the resilience and steadfastness of the Afghan people as the main factor enabling the continuation of humanitarian missions. It also notes that human needs remain extensive while access to support resources has declined compared to previous years.
The reduction in international aid persists as many residents, especially in vulnerable areas, continue to face food insecurity and the consequences of natural disasters—a situation that relief organizations have warned may continue.
