North Korea Warns US Military Presence Heightens Tensions on Korean Peninsula

The North Korean government has issued a statement warning about the consequences of the United States’ military presence and activities on the Korean Peninsula, calling it the primary cause of escalating tensions in the region.
The statement said that recent actions by Washington, especially in the military domain, have increased the risk of nuclear instability and posed a serious threat to regional security. Pyongyang emphasized that these policies worsen confrontation rather than reduce tensions.
North Korea specifically pointed to the arrival of a US nuclear-powered attack submarine at the Busan base in South Korea, describing the move as provocative and one that, in its view, raises the level of tensions on the peninsula.
Furthermore, Pyongyang reacted to recent military cooperation between the US and South Korea, stating that Washington’s green light to Seoul for developing nuclear submarines directly affects the security of the Korean Peninsula and threatens regional stability.
In conclusion, North Korea stressed that the deployment of US nuclear equipment and submarines near its borders will not alter its stance and that Pyongyang will not back down in the face of what it terms military pressure.
