Taliban Orders Evacuation of Four Villages in Panjshir for Military Expansion

Taliban authorities in Panjshir province have ordered residents of four villages to vacate their homes and lands, a move that local sources say aims to expand the group’s military facilities.

According to information obtained, the villages of Alok, Stayjah, Espiana, and Dashtak, home to approximately 150 families in total, are subject to this order. The Taliban have announced that these areas are to become part of their military installations, but no further details have been provided.

Several Panjshir residents have stated that the Taliban administration has offered no explanation regarding compensation or reparations for the confiscated homes and lands. This situation has left affected families facing an uncertain future with serious economic and social concerns.

Meanwhile, a Taliban military outpost has been established in Dashtak village, with security measures around it significantly increased. Local sources add that the Taliban have also designated the other three villages as “sensitive areas,” a move that has heightened fears of further military expansion and restrictions on civilian life in Panjshir. Critics say these decisions are made without consultation with local people and without guarantees for residents’ rights.
