US Revokes Entry for Afghan Special Visa Holders

The head of AfghanEvac, Shawn VanDiver, has announced that the United States government has revoked the entry permissions for Afghan nationals holding Special Immigrant Visas (SIV), a move that has sparked fresh concerns among applicants of the program.
VanDiver expressed deep concern about the consequences of this decision, urging an immediate review and reversal. He emphasized that SIV holders have undergone some of the most rigorous security checks before being granted travel authorization.
According to him, many of these Afghans have worked with American institutions for years and, based on official criteria, have been recognized as eligible for support and relocation to the United States.
AfghanEvac has stressed that prolonging this situation could leave thousands of families in a state of uncertainty and requires urgent attention from U.S. officials.
