Pakistan Engages Regional Powers to Stabilize Afghanistan, Alleges Afghan-Indian Role in Terrorism

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif announced on Saturday that Islamabad is in contact with regional nations, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Iran, in an effort to improve the situation in Afghanistan. Speaking at a press conference, Asif stressed that the Islamic Emirate must realize that security in Afghanistan is in the country’s own interest and that the international community will assist in its reconstruction.

The Pakistani minister also alleged that Afghanistan and India are jointly behind terrorist attacks in Pakistan. Pakistani officials have repeatedly asserted that such attacks are orchestrated by militants operating from Afghan territory.

However, the Islamic Emirate has denied these allegations, stating that it cannot take responsibility for ensuring security in Pakistan. It was also noted that trade between the two countries has been suspended since October 11, following Pakistani airstrikes in Afghanistan and deadly clashes near the de facto Durand Line.
