Chinese Firm Plans Major Solar Panel Factory Investment in Pakistan

The Chinese company Hebei Johang has announced its readiness to make a significant investment in establishing a large solar panel manufacturing plant in Pakistan. The move was discussed during a meeting between company representative Wang Jianbin and Pakistani officials.

According to Wang Jianbin, Hebei Johang plans to invest several billion dollars in Pakistan’s renewable energy and advanced technology sectors. He emphasized China’s interest in expanding its technical and industrial cooperation with Islamabad.

During the same meeting, Pakistan’s Minister for Investment, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, welcomed the proposal and described it as an important step toward developing green industries and creating jobs in the country. He characterized the relationship between Pakistan and China as “strategic and based on mutual interests.”

Experts note that political and economic ties between the two countries have strengthened in recent years, particularly through large-scale infrastructure projects. China views Pakistan as a key partner in its South Asian development initiatives and considers clean energy investment as part of its regional economic sustainability policy.
