Omar Daudzai Highlights Challenges Facing Anti-Taliban Groups Amid Leadership Age and Pakistan Disputes

Omar Daudzai, the rotating chairman of the National Assembly for the Salvation of Afghanistan, identified the advanced age of opposition group leaders and the limited participation of younger generations in leadership roles as fundamental challenges facing anti-Taliban factions. He noted that most leaders in these groups are between 70 and 80 years old, with the youth playing an insignificant role in decision-making.
Daudzai also pointed to the lack of consensus among opponents regarding cooperation with Pakistan, stating that while some factions see the necessity of leveraging regional countries’ support, others oppose such policies. These disagreements have hindered efforts toward unity and effective opposition activities.
The rotating chairman described the Taliban administration’s failure to gain internal legitimacy and emphasized that real, lasting change in Afghanistan must emerge from within Afghan society itself. He added that the solution to Afghanistan’s political crisis can only be achieved through a national agreement and the participation of all parties.
