Student Protests Continue in France with School Entrances Blocked in Several Cities

Student protests are ongoing in France, particularly in the cities of Paris, Lyon, Toulouse, Rennes, and Montpellier, with entrances to several schools and universities being blocked to students. In Paris, the entrance to the historic Sorbonne University was blocked by students, and the National Union of Students of France has called for a wider expansion of these demonstrations.
Student gatherings took place in front of several educational centers in Paris, where police intervened against protesters. In other cities, students disrupted the teaching process by placing physical barriers at school entrances. In Lyon, access to Ampere High School was blocked; in Rennes, Brequigny High School was targeted; and in Toulouse, the entrance to a high school was also blocked. These actions are not limited to specific institutions and have resulted in the closure or disruption of formal educational activities.
Paris police have announced plans for a large protest gathering at 2 p.m. local time, estimating that between 15,000 and 30,000 people will participate. Meanwhile, the French Interior Minister stated that since the protests began on October 17, a total of 4,914 people have been arrested in connection with the demonstrations.
