Taliban Acting Finance Minister Meets UNDP Representative to Enhance Private Sector Support

The Acting Minister of Economy of the Taliban administration met with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) representative in Afghanistan to discuss ways to expand cooperation for the development of infrastructure projects and support the private sector.

During the meeting, the focus was on creating job opportunities, addressing the needs of returning refugees, and tackling the country’s economic challenges. The UNDP representative emphasized continued collaboration on combating drug cultivation, constructing flood control dams, implementing educational programs, and supporting small businesses.

This dialogue took place amid Afghanistan’s ongoing economic hardship and multiple crises, which continue to strain the population despite international commitments. Restrictions imposed by the Taliban administration on economic policies have further exacerbated these challenges.
