Former Mossad Chief Calls Assassination of Iranian Leader a Strategic Mistake and Israeli Defeat

Tamir Pardo, former head of Mossad, described the assassination of the Supreme Leader of Iran as a grave mistake and a major strategic defeat for the Israeli regime. In the “All-In” podcast, he sharply criticized Israel’s policies against Iran, emphasizing that the operation not only failed to serve Tel Aviv’s long-term goals but also strengthened the leadership and the Iranian regime.

Pardo added that the attack on Iran’s leadership disrupted the internal balance of power and resulted in increased influence for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). He warned that this disruption ultimately benefited the more powerful forces within Iran.

The former Mossad official also recalled that the assassination did not lead to the collapse of the Iranian system; instead, it paved the way for future generations of retaliation and is considered a strategic error.
