Afghanistan’s Imports Far Exceed Exports in First Half of 1405

The General Directorate of Statistics and Information has reported that during the first six months of the current solar year, Afghanistan’s exports amounted to only $598.5 million. In the same period, the value of imported goods reached $6.6566 billion. This significant gap between exports and imports reflects Afghanistan’s heavy economic dependence on foreign goods, a situation that could have negative repercussions on the country’s trade balance and national economy. The Taliban administration has yet to issue an official response on this matter, but these figures have raised concerns about declining domestic production capacity and a worsening economic crisis.
