Iran warns US choosing war over diplomacy would bring major defeat

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has warned, in response to possible US policies, that if Washington chooses war over diplomacy, it would lead to a bigger and wider strategic defeat for the United States.

In a post on social media, Araghchi wrote that Tehran is ready to give diplomacy another chance, but this depends on the United States providing credible signs to build trust and reach a fair solution.

The Iranian foreign minister’s remarks come as tensions between Washington and Tehran continue, with both sides waiting for political and diplomatic developments.

Seyed Abbas Araghchi is among Iranian officials who have previously stressed the importance of dialogue and peaceful solutions, but he has warned that Washington’s insistence on a path of tension and war would have wide-ranging consequences.
