Helmand Corps says it seized multiple smuggled consignments from Pakistan

The 215th Al-Azm Corps in Helmand said its forces seized a smuggled shipment in the Baramcha area of Helmand district along the Durand Line.
The shipment included 60 barrels of oil, 969 pieces of copper, 72 parcels of copper material, 344 cartons of human medicines and 28 cartons of explosives, which were being smuggled from Pakistan into Afghanistan.
The large-scale smuggling of oil, metal and pharmaceutical products from Pakistan to Afghanistan, in addition to its negative impact on the domestic economy, also raises security and health concerns. The issue points to weak monitoring and control by the Taliban administration over border crossings, which could pose a threat to stability and public health in Afghanistan.
The Taliban administration has not yet provided an explanation or response to the incident. Previously, numerous cases of smuggling of various goods through the eastern borders have also been reported, highlighting the need for this administration to take serious and effective action to curb smuggling and protect border security.
