Spain’s PM says Iran war has cost Europe 100 billion euros

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has pointed to the heavy economic costs caused by the war against Iran, saying the conflict has so far cost European countries more than 100 billion euros.

In a post on social media, he wrote that Europe was right not to support the war against Iran and to protest against it, because in the end ordinary people would bear the heavy burden of the conflict.

Sanchez also said that, because of the economic damage caused by the fighting, Spain’s parliament has prepared and approved a support package worth more than 12 billion euros to help citizens and affected sectors.

He stressed that the time has now come for this disaster to end, and that people should not be made to suffer any more from the consequences of the war.
