Russia calls for immediate Yemen ceasefire and talks

The Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson has called for an immediate ceasefire in Yemen and the launch of negotiations.
In an interview with Al Mayadeen, Maria Zakharova stressed the need to establish an immediate ceasefire in Yemen and begin comprehensive talks.
Zakharova added that the escalation of fighting in Yemen poses a serious threat to regional security, and that preventing the conflict from widening and drawing in new parties is vital.
She pointed to the road map agreed in late 2023 with Omani mediation, saying it could form the basis for resolving the Yemen crisis.
Zakharova also said the crisis must be resolved taking into account the interests of all parties involved, and that there is no alternative to constructive dialogue between them.
According to the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Russia continues its efforts with regional partners to reduce tensions in Yemen.
