Norway to Allocate 8 Billion Euros to Ukraine in 2027

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre said the country will allocate around 8 billion euros to Ukraine in 2027, with 70% of the amount earmarked for defence and military support.

Støre made the remarks at the Warsaw Security Forum and called on China, India, Brazil and South Africa to use their influence over Moscow to bring Russia into negotiations with Ukraine.

The Norwegian prime minister stressed the need to provide interceptor missiles to strengthen Ukraine’s air defence systems. He also called for support from the International Monetary Fund and other financial institutions to meet Ukraine’s economic needs.

Støre also urged European countries to take on a larger share of support for Ukraine, saying Europe should begin planning now for security arrangements after the war ends.

In August 2026, the Norwegian government said it would keep its aid to Ukraine at 85 billion Norwegian kroner in 2027. According to the government’s official announcement, most of the budget will go to military support, although the final split between military and civilian assistance has not yet been determined.
