Taliban spokesperson says October 7 was a ‘black day’ and the start of migration

Hamdullah Fitrat, deputy spokesman for the Taliban administration, has described October 7 as a “black day” in Afghanistan’s history, saying that the events that began on that date had heavy consequences for the Afghan people.

According to him, as a result of these events, “thousands” of Afghans were killed and injured, and many others were detained or forced to migrate.

Fitrat also claimed that after “extensive efforts,” Afghans were able to once again “liberate” their country.

The United States and its allies launched a military operation in Afghanistan on October 7, 2001, an operation that began following the September 11 attacks that year and whose repercussions cast a shadow for years over the country’s security situation and the lives of Afghan citizens.
