Russia Claims Drone Strike on Ukrainian Weapons Ship in Black Sea

Russia’s Ministry of Defense announced that a Russian military drone attacked a cargo ship carrying weapons for Ukrainian armed forces on August 7 in eastern Odesa, in the Black Sea.
Interfax news agency reported on Saturday, citing the ministry, that the attack took place in Black Sea waters, but Russian officials have not provided details on the extent of possible damage or casualties.
A few days earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry stated that four cargo ships and a military factory in Ukrainian ports had been targeted in attacks by Russia.
Since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, the Black Sea has become a key hotspot in the conflict, and attacks on cargo ships in the region have heightened concerns about the safety of maritime routes and the transfer of military equipment.
