Israeli Army Announces Killing of Hamas Operations Commander in Gaza

The Israeli army has announced that Adham Ibrahim Shaaban Nesman, head of the Hamas operations unit in the city of Gaza, was killed in a targeted operation.

In a statement, the Israeli army claimed that Nesman played a role in the October 7, 2023, attack on the Israeli-occupied territories and was responsible for the detention of several Israeli settlers.

According to the statement, he had previously been the commander of Hamas’s elite battalion and held other positions such as intelligence officer of the Gaza brigade and commander of the coastal battalion.

The Israeli army also alleged that Nesman was working to retrain Hamas forces and produce ammunition to rebuild the militant group’s military capability.
