Pakistan Targets Taliban Positions with Artillery Strikes Following Border Attacks

Pakistani security sources have announced that in response to attacks by Taliban militants on the country’s border posts, the group’s positions across the border have been targeted with artillery strikes.
The newspaper Dawn reported on Sunday, July 19, that Taliban militants attacked Pakistani border posts using light and heavy weapons.
Following this incident, Pakistani security forces targeted Taliban positions within Afghan territory. Pakistani security officials claimed that as a result of these retaliatory attacks, the Taliban militants abandoned their positions and withdrew.
Border clashes between Pakistani forces and Taliban militants have repeatedly occurred since the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan, raising concerns about instability along the two countries’ border.
