Afghanistan Exports $14 Million Worth of Carpets in One Year

The Economic Deputy of the Office of the Prime Minister has announced that in the past solar year, Afghanistan exported over 760,000 square meters of carpets valued at 14 million US dollars to global markets. According to this entity, Afghan carpets remain one of the country’s key export items.
Based on the provided information, the carpet industry currently provides employment and income opportunities for nearly one million people across the country. This industry is widely prevalent in various provinces, with thousands of families in both urban and rural areas earning their livelihoods through it.
Officials have emphasized that the development of the carpet industry can play a significant role in economic growth and increasing household incomes. However, economic experts consistently stress the need for better access to international markets, support for producers, and the creation of export facilitation measures; issues that currently require serious attention from the Taliban administration.
