Taliban’s Mullah Yaqub Emphasizes Nationwide Security Coordination

The Central Security and Purge Commission, chaired by Maulvi Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid, acting Minister of Defense of the Taliban administration, held its regular meeting to review the country’s security situation. During the meeting, emphasis was placed on strengthening coordination among security agencies to ensure the comprehensive safety of citizens.

According to a released statement, commission members discussed ways to improve security measures nationwide. However, no further details about the discussions or specific decisions made were provided in the statement.

This comes amid recent years when reports of scattered security incidents and public concern in various parts of the country have been published. Despite repeated assurances by Taliban officials regarding the provision of public security, some residents continue to call for greater transparency about the performance of security institutions and accountability for existing challenges.

Experts believe that effective coordination among responsible agencies, alongside transparent information sharing, can play a crucial role in building trust and improving the security situation — a matter expected to be practically pursued in future meetings of this commission.
