25 Unexploded Artillery Shells Found Beneath House in Baghlan, Safely Removed

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) announced that 25 unexploded artillery shells were discovered beneath a residential house in Baghlan province and were safely removed. The munitions were found while workers were reconstructing a damaged wall.
According to UNDP Afghanistan, the mine clearance team supported by the organization was dispatched to the area after receiving the report, successfully neutralizing and removing all the shells without any incident. This operation prevented potential danger to the lives of eight workers and 16 family members.
Baghlan province, located in northern Afghanistan, remains one of the regions still threatened by explosives and mines leftover from years of conflict. The presence of unexploded ordnance in residential areas continues to pose a serious security challenge for local residents.
Mine clearance organizations emphasize that raising public awareness about the dangers of remaining explosives and the prompt reporting of such cases play a crucial role in preventing civilian casualties.
