Afghanistan and India Discuss Visa Issues and Trade in Fourth Joint Committee Meeting

The fourth meeting of the joint committee between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan and India was held today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in New Delhi. The primary focus of the meeting was visa issuance, trade challenges, and strengthening exports and imports.

The meeting was co-chaired by Shoaib Bryaily, First Political Deputy of the Taliban-led Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Anand Prakash, Head of the Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran Division at the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides held extensive talks on facilitating the visa issuance process for citizens, addressing existing trade barriers, and expanding bilateral economic and political cooperation.

In recent years, banking restrictions, transit difficulties, and visa acquisition challenges have been some of the issues faced by Afghan traders and residents. However, no specific details about possible agreements or concrete outcomes of this meeting have been released so far.
