Taliban Denies Dispute with Juma Khan Fath; Attributes His Absence to Family Issues

The Taliban’s Ministry of Defense Army Staff Headquarters announced that Juma Khan Fath has not distanced himself from the organization’s structure, dismissing reports of a rift between him and Taliban leadership as “media propaganda.”
Fasihuddin Fetrat, Chief of Staff of the Army, stated that Juma Khan Fath has been unable to fulfill his duties as Deputy Governor of Zabul due to family problems. According to him, some media have portrayed the situation as if a split had emerged between Fath and the Taliban administration.
Fetrat emphasized that these interpretations are incorrect and that the matter solely concerns personal and family issues. He also described reports claiming that forces were being dispatched to arrest Juma Khan Fath as “false and detached from reality.”
These remarks come amid recent months when any news of internal disputes within the Taliban administration has been met with swift responses from its officials, who typically deny such reports.
