2,500 Visas Issued as Afghan Pilgrims Begin Arriving for Martyr Leader’s Funeral in Iran

The Secretary-General for Foreign Nationals and Migrants Affairs of Iran’s Khorasan Razavi province announced that 2,500 visas have been issued to Afghan nationals to participate in the farewell and funeral ceremony of the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution. According to Jafar Seyedabadi, these visas were distributed by four consular offices of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Afghanistan.

He added that 50 Afghan guests from various cities have entered Iran through the Dogharun border crossing and, after completing coordination procedures, have been transferred to the city of Mashhad. Meanwhile, a service tent has been set up at the Dogharun border area to accommodate Afghan pilgrims.

The Iranian official stated that Afghan nationals are allowed to enter Iran daily via Dogharun from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Entry is permitted on the 14th and 15th of Tir (solar calendar) / Cancer (lunar calendar), and pilgrims are required to return to Afghanistan on the 20th and 21st of Tir / Cancer.

Additionally, the governor of Taybad reported the deployment of transportation fleets to ferry the pilgrims and emphasized that all administrative bodies in the county are fully prepared to provide necessary services to the guests. The Dogharun border crossing is one of the main transit routes between Afghanistan and Iran in Khorasan Razavi province.
