Washington Post: Funeral Ceremony Shows Strong Public Support for Iran’s Islamic Republic

The American newspaper The Washington Post reported that the large turnout at the funeral procession of the martyred leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution is seen as an informal indication of popular support for the Islamic Republic regime. The media outlet, in a photo report, highlighted the considerable gathering of participants on the first day of the ceremony.

According to the newspaper, a massive crowd gathered at the venue, including inside the prayer hall, mourning the martyred leader of the revolution. The report also noted that some attendees chanted slogans such as “Death to America” and calls for “revenge for the leader’s blood.”

The report stated that the martyred leader was killed on the first day of the military aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran, along with several family members, including his 14-month-old grandson.

The Washington Post described the ceremony as a “powerful display of resistance,” writing that despite the damages caused by the war, the Islamic Republic regime remains steadfast. The extensive international media coverage of this event reflects its significant impact regionally and globally.
