TTP Claims Ambush on Pakistani Army in South Waziristan

The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has released a video claiming responsibility for a recent attack on the Pakistani military in South Waziristan. According to the group’s media wing, the ambush took place in the Faqirsarai area of Badr district on September 13, 2025, targeting a large number of army personnel.
The TTP said the assault resulted in at least 40 Pakistani soldiers being killed or wounded.
The footage shows the attack being carried out from two directions against a military convoy. The group claimed the operation was organized by its so-called “Special Istishhadi Unit.”
Following the ambush, the attackers reportedly seized a significant cache of weapons and equipment, including eight Kalashnikov rifles, one G3 rifle, an LMG machine gun, and a drone.
