Taliban’s Acting Foreign Minister Welcomes Iran-US Agreement, Hopes for Implementation

Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting Foreign Minister of the Taliban administration, has welcomed the agreement between Iran and the United States and expressed hope that it will be put into practice.
Speaking on Tuesday at a meeting in Kabul attended by representatives of think tanks from Afghanistan and Central Asia, Muttaqi said that the implementation of this agreement could be a positive step for the region. He emphasized that the continuation of war and conflict is detrimental to all countries in the region.
According to him, ensuring peace and stability will not only benefit the countries in the region but also serve the interests of the global community. The acting Foreign Minister of the Taliban administration’s welcome of this agreement comes as the Taliban have consistently emphasized expanding regional relations and reducing political tensions.
Iran and the United States have experienced tensions over various issues in recent years, and any agreement between the two sides could impact the political and security situation in the region. Taliban officials consider this matter important for the stability of areas surrounding Afghanistan.
