Qatari Delegation Visits Tehran to Finalize Iran-US Memorandum of Understanding, CNN Reports

American network CNN, citing an informed source, reported that a Qatari delegation traveled to Tehran this morning to facilitate the finalization of a memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States. According to the report, the delegation visited Iran in coordination with the United States.
While U.S. President Donald Trump and a Pakistani mediator announced on the same day that an initial agreement in the form of a memorandum of understanding had been finalized, Iranian officials have yet to provide an official confirmation.
Esmaeil Baqaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said on Friday that “we are in the final stages of compiling the text of the memorandum.” He did not provide further details regarding the exact timing of the signing or the contents of the document.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani foreign minister told his Saudi counterpart that a digital signing ceremony for the memorandum is planned. However, as of the time this news was published, no official announcement about such a ceremony had been made by Tehran.
According to reports, if this initial memorandum aimed at ending the war is finalized, Iran and the United States will enter supplementary negotiations within a 60-day timeframe. Earlier, last Wednesday, it was reported that the Qatari negotiating team had traveled to Tehran for discussions on finalizing this document after consultations with American officials.
